Wole Soyinka and dauhter Iyetade Soyinka.
Daughter of Nobel Prize winner Wole Soyinka, Iyetade Soyinka has passed on at the age of 48.
She died at the University of Ibadan Teaching
Hospital after a brief illness. Jahman Anikulapo, an aide to Wole
Soyinka, made this known in a statement released on behalf of the
family.
Anikulapo’s statement described the deceased as “affable, intelligent
and sometimes capricious,” adding that she “struggled with her health
in recent years.” Despite her health woes, the late Iyetade Soyinka
“greeted every day with a smile and doted on her two children.”
Soyinka is survived by two children, both parents, numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
May her soul rest in peace
