How Wi-Fi wireless Connection Killed Our Son – Distraught parents

Two New Zealand parents think a school’s Wi-Fi may have killed their son.

Ethan Wyman, 10, died of brain cancer earlier this year after an 11-month battle.

His parents now want Wi-Fi removed from his school because they believe students there are being exposed to radiation that could lead them to suffer Ethan’s fate.

Though numerous studies have found that Wi-Fi signals do not present any public health risk, Ethan’s Te Horo School has sent a survey to all parents asking if the wireless internet should be removed.

A decision is expected Saturday.

Ethan’s father, Damon Wyman, told New Zealand’s The Dominion Post his son received the diagnosis of brain tumors three months after he was given an iPod with a Wi-Fi connection.

The parents later learned that Ethan had been falling asleep with it under his pillow.

“We’re not saying that caused it, but it seems like a bit of a coincidence. Most people would be very cautious about giving their 5-year-old a cellphone — well, this is 30 kids in a classroom (being exposed) to the same thing,” Damon Wyman told the newspaper, adding he still has two children at the school.

The controversy prompted New Zealand’s Ministry of Health to restate its position that electromagnetic fields from Wi-Fi did not pose a health risk.

Scientific studies have found no definitive link between childhood cancer and exposure to electric and magnetic fields.

Pregnant Employee Kicked in The Stomach ; The Lebanese Imbecile Arrested

A manager with Yoppan Printing Company, Kaveh Noine, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command on Friday, for allegedly kicking his pregnant subordinate, Alexandra Ossai, in the stomach.

The incident which occurred 2 weeks ago was said to have caused the loss of the victim’s pregnancy.

Noine, a Lebanese, reportedly travelled out of the country when policemen attached to the Area F Police Division, initially went to the company to invite him for questioning on Tuesday.

According to a Nigerian Eye report:

Following the publication, President Goodluck Jonathan, had on Friday directed that the police and the National Human Rights Commission investigate the matter, expressing his displeasure over the incident.
However, it was gathered that Noine was arrested on Friday by the Lagos State Police Command in Kano where he had fled to on Friday and brought him back to Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the story. She said, “Even before President Goodluck Jonathan ordered an investigation into the case, the Lagos State Police Command has been on it.
“In the course of our investigation, we discovered that Noine was still in the country; he had fled to Kano. Our men traced him to Kano, arrested him and have brought him back to Lagos.
“Presently, he is making his statement now at the command. The issue of bail, has not come up for now.”
Ossai had, alleged that Noine assaulted her several times during her eight months stay at the company. Noine had allegedly hit Ossai in the chest a day before kicking her in her stomach over some misdemeanor by those whom Ossai supervised.
She also alleged that Noine was in the habit of physically assaulting workers at the company with anything he could lay his hands on, whenever he was angry.
The 34-year-old mother of one was said to have developed pains in her stomach which lasted for two days before subsiding. The pains were said to have begun again in the early hours of December 16, 2013, resulting into an emergency surgery at a private hospital at Fagba.
Her seven-month pregnancy was allegedly lost to the kick, as a result of a broken placenta. Ossai’s appointment with the company was allegedly terminated as a result of the incident and two of her siblings who also worked there were sacked.
Already, the Lagos State Public Advice Centre has waded into the case and offered Ossai free legal aid. The Public Relations Officer of the centre, Mr. Alex Omorodion, said, “We are going to liaise with other security agencies in Lagos State to see this matter to a logical conclusion. We also intend to visit the factory and talk with other workers to determine if more people have been abused by Noine. Then we will prosecute Noine at the conclusion of our investigation.”
When reporters contacted Ossai, she said, “I am really happy about the arrest. The rest is left to the police and my lawyer.”

Armed with a twenty-year career in the United States as a telecommunication executive, Opeke returned to Nigeria in 2005 as the Chief Technical Officer of MTN. She also served as an adviser to Transcorp on the acquisition of NITEL and briefly served as the interim Chief Operating Officer, NITEL after which she created Main One as a result of the dearth of infrastructure which forms a huge information and knowledge gap between Africa and the rest of the world. She creatively built Main One as a result of the non-existent internet services in the country at that time. She built Main One over a 2-year period, from inception with a total investment of $240 million financed entirely from African investors (The founding shareholders are called Main Street Technologies) plus $28 million contingency. Since her company began operations in 2010, Main One has transformed Nigerian and African broadband landscape.

Recently, her company began the building of a $25 million Tier III + data centre in Lagos which would be the largest of its kind in West Africa at 1,500 square metres with a 600 rack capacity as part of its growth strategy and vision to enhance infrastructure in its primary market – West Africa. Her efforts have been recognised over the years. Last year, she won the 2012 CNBC All Africa Businesswoman of the Year Award (AABLA) in Midrand, South Africa.

He is unarguably the king of Nigeria manufacturing industry, and perhaps Africa. His company Dangote group, which he started with a business loan from his maternal uncle has grown to be one of the continent’s leading diversified business empires with interests in cement, sugar, flour, salt, pasta, beverages and real estate, and new projects in the oil and Natural gas sector, telecommunications, fertilizer and steel with annual earnings averaging $2 billion. Today, Dangote Group is worth more than $11 billion, comprising a third of Nigeria’s Stock Exchange.

The company cement business (Dangote Cement) which spans about 24 African countries is the company’s greatest asset and it has helped to push Nigeria to the fore-front in cement manufacturing, establishing it as the largest cement manufacturer in sub-Saharan Africa as well as the third-largest cement maker in the broader Middle East. According to Renaissance Capital research, Dangote Cement, owned by Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, was the major force behind the country’s cement success story. Also, his company was listed among Africa’s top 10 most valuable brands in 2013 by African Business Magazine. Dangote group was also named the most valuable brand in the consumer goods sector with an African brand value and overall 8th most valuable brand when placed against brands from other sectors.

In the coming year, Dangote Group plan to invest $16 billion in infrastructural projects in the energy, agriculture and construction sectors in what is likely to be the largest private investment ever in the continent. Dangote plans to double its cement output in Africa to 55 million metric tons by 2015 and to double its sugar refining capacity to 2.75 million tons by 2017. Industry watchers have predicted that Dangote Group will grow by about 30 percent next year if the investment goes according to its plan.

Oscar Onyema has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigeria’s trade stable – the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) since 2011. Since he became the bourse head, he has turned it around for good. A former Chief Administrative Officer of the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), Onyema introduced Market Making and security lending to the NSE in 2012 as part of his move to introduce initiatives that would help to deepen the Nigerian stock market and make it the gateway to Africa capital markets. The introduction of this programme has paid off as the volume and value of trade has lifted the market by 41 per cent or N3.338 rillion in 2013.

Before the introduction of Market Making, the All-Share Index (ASI) posted a growth of 20 percent, rising 21,106.67 to c lose at 25,373.83. Market capitalisation also added N1.346 trillion, growing from N6.731trillion to N8.077 trillion as at September, 2013. Also, at the end of last week, market capitalisation appreciated by 1.88 per cent to close at N12.661 trillion while the NSE All-Share Index increased by 1.88 per cent to close on Friday (Dec 20) at 39,562.75. Onyema has delivered as the exchange is now one of the most respected globally. The NSE was one of the two bourses that made the top 10 best performing Stock Exchange of UK’s Telegraph this year. Under his management, the Nigerian Stock Exchange joined the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, making it the third African nation to join the clique. Malawi's President Mrs Joyce Banda On 3 days Visit To TB Joshua's Synagogue in Lagos

 

Malawi President Joyce Banda left her country on a South Africa Airways flight to Lagos, to begin a three-day private visit to Nigeria.

She will be the guest neither of President Goodluck Jonathan nor that of his wife, ‘Mama Peace’ Patience Jonathan.

Rather she is heading to Lagos, where she will, for three days, be the VIP guest of Pastor TB Joshua’s Synagogue of All Nations, to receive prayers for herself and her  country.

At the departure ceremony in Lilongwe today, she said she wanted to use the time to reflect on 2013 and and what lies ahead in 2014. Mrs. Banda is due to face a general election in May 2014.

She told reporters at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe that she has been coming to Nigeria for prayers in the last five years, and this visit is normal.

“Some of you may be aware that I go for prayers in Nigeria. This year I also decided to take a three-day holiday for prayers,” she said. She calls TB Joshua her spiritual father.

She was seen off at the airport by VP Khumbo Kachali. And she is expected back in Malawi on new years’ eve.

Her visit to Nigeria, her seventh in the 20 months she has been in office, was the issue of discussion on social media in her country, since the announcement Thursday that she would leave for Nigeria on a private visit.

President Banda’s ascendancy to power is said to be connected to the prophecy of the TB Joshua who was said to have predicted the death of former Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika.

President Banda had visited Nigeria more than once before she ascended the presidency.

At some point she was captured on Emmanuel Television at TB Joshua’s synagogue. Emmanuel TV is owned by the flamboyant preacher.

TB Joshua’s Synagogue has been a favourite destination of some African leaders, including the late Professor Atta Mills of Ghana.

Gov. Adams Oshiomole Survives Car Accident

Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole survived a motor accident at Ewu Village along the ever-busy Benin-Auchi road in Edo State at about 9.45am Saturday, 28th December 2013 on his way back to Benin City from his Iyamho Village. The incident occurred at about 9.45am at Ewu, in Edo Central Senatorial District, when a Peugeot J5 Bus filled with tomatoes and plantains apparently lost control and rammed into the Governor’s Flag Car from the opposite direction before swerving into a roadside ditch.
Three vehicles in the Governor’s convoy were in front of the Governor’s Flag Car and had passed the Peugeot J5 Bus before it [J5 Bus] had direct impact with the Governor’s car, which had the Governor, his Aide-De-Camp [ADC] and his Driver as occupants. The Governor’s Car was badly affected but both occupants of the Peugeot J5 Bus and that of the Governor’s sustained no injuries.
The Peugeot J5 Bus was following a truck that was descending the Ewu Slope when it suddenly veered off into the Governor’s lane from the opposite direction and directly impacted on the Governor’s vehicle, apparently because of brake failure. The good story is that nobody sustained injuries in both vehicles. The Comrade Governor is hale and hearty, his ADC and other occupants of the Peugeot J5 are also in good condition.
The incident has been reported to the Divisional Police Station at Ewu for further investigation. This is to assure all good people of Edo State that there is no cause for alarm. Their loving Comrade Governor is fine, hale and hearty as well as other occupants of the other affected vehicle. The Comrade Governor is wishing everyone a prosperous new year ahead.

Seychelles

One hundred and fifty-five islands make up the Seychelles, but 90 percent of the 80,000 citizens live on the big island, Mahe. While Mahe’s highest point, Morne Seychellois, reaches an impressive height of 905 meters, it is a large granite formation surrounded by thick vegetation. Most of the island’s inhabitants, and the only airport, are along the coastline, which is only 30 feet above sea level. The next closest airport is over 1,000 miles away (Zanzibar or Madagascar), making it a chore to get supplies to the island.

Kiribati

Most of Kiribati’s 32 atolls and one coral island are less than six feet above sea level, with the highest point in the entire island-chain being only nine feet above the Pacific Ocean. Kiribati President Anote Tong is trying to purchase land in Fiji to relocate more than 110,000 people

Maldives

At just less than five feet above sea level, the Maldives is the planet’s lowest-lying country. To make matters worse, its highest point is only three feet above sea level.

The nation experienced extensive damage from the Sumatra earthquake. According to the Guardian: “The wave that struck the Maldives was barely a metre high, but it killed 82 people, displaced 12,000 more and inflicted $375m of damage.”

The situation in the Maldives is so dire that former President Mohamed Nasheed was looking to buy land in Australia in order to relocate his 300,000 countrymen and women.

Deeper Life Church members disagree with Kumuyi over anti-Christmas statement

Certain members of the Deeper Life Bible Church, were seen attending other churches yesterday, to partake in the Christmas celebration with other Christians.

This may be as a result of the position taken by the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor William Kumuyi, on the celebration of Christmas.

Kumuyi had caused a bit of a stir earlier this week when he reportedly condemned the celebration of Christmas, describing it as idolatry.

However, his opinion has generated a number of reactions across all spheres of the Christian fold.

According to reports:

A popular media personality and member of the church, who did not want his name mentioned, was spotted at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church Cathedral, Murtala Road, Ilorin, where he had gone to worship with members of his family as a way of protesting the position of his General Overseer.
Another member of the church also told the newsmen that he worshiped for the first time in 20 years at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sabo Oke in Ilorin, because of the pronouncement of the Deeper Life Church general overseer, which he did not agree with.
His words; “I was born into Baptist Mission; I attended Baptist schools in my younger days and got my childhood Christian upbringing as a Baptist. I feel bad that a man of God that I so much revered could say such a thing about our Lord Jesus Christ even in the open.
“If that position is not retracted, I may not say yet, what will be my decision as a member.”
Meanwhile it was observed yesterday that doors to many Deeper Life Churches in Ilorin, the state capital, were closed while the traditional campground of the church at Eiyenkorin was deserted when it was visited.
Sources revealed that the customary camping that used to spread to the early hours of December 26, was suddenly cut short on Sunday and members were instructed to go back home.
The Christmas celebration was, however, very peaceful in Ilorin yesterday though with the presence of armed security men in major churches.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state, Olufemi Fabode, while speaking with journalists confirmed that the command increased the presence of its personnel around the churches in town to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.
According to him, the combined men of the usual patrol vans and the newly inaugurated ‘Operation Harmony’ were drafted out to complement security arrangement in the city while the number of patrols at night were also increased to include several stop and search spots at many locations during the night.

I Fasted For 10 Months To Become Gov – Amaechi.

He said, “As a government led by me, a government installed by Christ, if anybody tells you he installed me, tell him it is a lie. Tell him that I said I prayed for 10 months and I fasted from 6am to 6pm, calling on Christ to come down and Christ came down mightily and installed me as governor.

“That is why you can see that in the face of human effontery, I have been able to stand face to face with them and I say I have Christ in me.

“You must rise in that same spirit of having Christ in you and confront those who are confronting you. You must stand up for Christ because the Bible says ‘faith without work is dead.’

“We must not die. We must live and the way to live is to celebrate Christ and the way to celebrate Christ is to confront Satan and Satan is in different forms and shapes.

“If the police shoot at you, they are satanic. If government denies you your right to live, that government is satanic,” Amaechi added.

“All these you may want to attribute to political disagreement in Rivers State; but it is not true. It is simply because of those who lead us in Abuja; because the police is an establishment of the Federal Government and they have refused to curb the excesses of the police.

“Instead of the police to chase away criminals, they are shooting at innocent citizens. Don’t stop at praying. We knew we prayed, but as you pray, you must rise on your feet and confront the challenges of insecurity.

The Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi has expressed that it was God that installed him as governor of Rivers state.

He said that "God, and not man, installed him as the state governor because he fasted and prayed for 10 months before he became the governor.

Amaechi said rather than chase criminals away from the state, the police had decided to shoot innocent citizens.

The governor, who spoke at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Port Harcourt on Christmas day, said insecurity in the state was growing because the police had failed to do their job in an unbiased manner.

Maintaining that his government was installed by Jesus Christ, Amaechi urged the people to disregard those who claimed to be responsible for his emergence as the governor of the state.

A very scary event took place recently at Utak Street, off Nkemba Street, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Three months ago, a busy working class single mum employed a 17-year-old girl to help take care of her 2-year-old daughter.

Recently, while the lady was engrossed with a TV programme, her daughter needed attention and she called the help more than three times and the help kept responding that she was in the toilet.

When it became unnecessarily too long, she tiptoed into the help’s room and opened the toilet door.

To her horror, she met the help squatting with blood all over the bathroom with a stillborn newly delivered baby hanging in-between her legs. She screamed and ran out of her apartment into the street.

The entire neighbourhood came out and it took the intervention of neighbours to calm her down. The neighbours also helped rushed the help to the hospital.

While in the hospital, she refused treatment and claimed she drank herbs and was given some to insert in her v**ina to force the baby out. The help said she was warned not to allow orthodox medical treatment.

When asked, the help explained that the pregnancy was six months old. Her employer said she didn’t know she was pregnant as she is a very slim girl and she thought that the small protruding tummy was just an evidence of good living with her. She was smart in discharge of her duties, so there was nothing to suspect.

The help was sent parking afterward.

GEJ FOOD POISONING; Gambian Court Begins Trial of The Chef Who Served The Food

The trial has begun in the case of a Gambian chef which allegedly caused President Goodluck Jonathan to go through a bout of food poisoning after serving him contaminated food.

President Jonathan stayed at Coco Ocean, a five star hotel, during a 2-day state visit last month and was said to have been served with the food which was stale.

The case is being heard by a Gambian Magistrate Court at the Kanifing Municipal Council before which the chef of the hotel, Ayoub Aliris, is being charged with negligence.

According to Leadership reports; Jonathan was said to have been served with food that had been preserved for a long period, causing him food poisoning during his two-day state visit in Gambia in November 2013.

The Gambian police is said to have charged the chef of Coco Ocean Hotel, Ayoub Aliris, with negligence and food poisoning on Jonathan and his delegation.But Aliris denied the charge when he appeared before the Principal Magistrate, Sheriff Tabally.

 

According to the police charge sheet, Aliris was said to have unlawfully or negligently cooked prawns served to Jonathan and his entourage as a starter during a special lunch hosted in honour of the visiting Nigerian president.

 

Lawyer to the plaintiff, Edward Singhateh, was also informed at the court premises that his client, Aliris, was arrested again for the second time after his release from the police custody.

The plaintiff was said to be under the custody of the National Intelligence Agency, but was later transferred to the State Central Prison Mile Two.

Jonathan was caught in a glare of media publicity over a “stomach upset” he suffered and was forced to enter a hospital in London to seek medical attention.

A prosecution witness, Babucarr Gomez, also a cook at Coco Ocean, explained that a day after the lunch, he received a call from his boss informing him that there was an infection in the food served to the Nigerians.

Gomez, who said he was ordered by Aliris to prepare the food, said he also ate it and was “vomiting, experienced stomach ache and frequented the toilet.
