Okene-under-sea

The blogsphere is currently generating buzz following the release of a video footage of a Nigerian who was ensnared in an air pocket sunken ship and rescued three days after.
The 1 minute; 27 seconds video taken by South African DCN Diving in May, captured the passionate rescue of the 29-year- old cook, identified as Harrison Okene.
According to report, Okene was a chef on the Jascon 4, an oil company’s ship, when the boat capsized and sank 100 feet into the ocean, off the coast of Nigeria due to heavy ocean swells, Reuters reported at the time.
Speaking with Reuters, a visibly elated Okene said, “Three men were in front of me and suddenly water rushed in full force. I saw the first one, the second one, the third one, just washed away. I knew these men were dead.”
He believes that his rescue, after 72 hours underwater at a depth of 30 metres was a miracle. The other 11 seamen aboard the Jascon 4 died.
