Devices and Services giant Microsoft has announced the launch of its Employability Program to serve young people in Nigeria. In a statement released by the global brand today, the Program launch will be preceded by an event to unveil its name, official identity and partners at a media & VIP event in Lagos.

According to Ugochukwu Nwosu, the Citizenship Manager at Microsoft for Anglophone West Africa “Microsoft takes its citizenship engagement as primary to its work. In working with organisations, technology enthusiasts and governments at every level, we have emphasized the crucial importance of jobs for a new generation of Nigerians. This program is a major step in leading a coordinated solution to this urgent problem.

The program, which is presented in partnership with The Future Project, features a web based job/training resource centre that aims to provide a guide for young Africans in the area of career planning, skill acquisition, entrepreneurship development, job sourcing and small business sustainability. The objective is to create a better-informed and empowered citizenry across Nigeria; particularly among the youth demography.
